Digital Assets Help
Work in Progress: I am supporting the creation of a legal education website with identity graphics and website creation. First step was to create a logo to support the mission of educating the public and interested legal professionals about “what happens to our digital assests when we die.” The elephant was a strong contender from the beginning of the logo exploration phase for the following reasons: Elephants never forget; elephants go back and revisit places and things - attributes which tie into the notion of keeping valuable digital assets going after our death. The mosaic effect is a nod to digital art and how our digital lives are multi-faceted. Visit Website

Viridian Bay Package Collateral
Viridian Bay, a home and garden cast metal decor B2C brand, needed updated packaging materials to support their 2024 logo update. I modernized the packaging tape to be more visible on the brown shipping boxes, revised the package stickers, and created an “all-in-one” package insert that reinforces the new brand mark while also serving as detailed product care instructions and return terms.

Most Holy Redeemer Booklet, San Francisco
In the heart of the Castro, a thriving parish faced the challenge of paying off the debt incurred during a recent building restoration. For “Debt Free in Three,” they sought a fundraising logo to use for their materials over the next three years. Additionally, they required a booklet that would serve as an emotional appeal to the congregation, highlighting the significant benefits their community has received. After reaching their goals, my illustration from the final panel of the logo is still used as a regular logo mark for parish identity. Most Holy Redeemer

Almadayo Academic Services, LLC Logo; San Diego
This small business needed a logo for their branding cards and website. They support homeschooling networks in the San Diego area with supplemental tutoring. During logo development, I was asked to choose a typeface in which there is not a hook over the ‘a’ because that interferes with young readers’ letter recognition, and to incorporate a “tree of learning.” I customized the lettering to connote friendliness, and the second letter is the tree, which bears the fruit of learning.

MG Designs Business Card Variations, San Francisco
Work in progress: An interior designer is launching a new career and wants business cards. She has Greek heritage and feels a deep connection with the colors and frescos in the Queen’s bedroom in Knossos, Crete. This informed my choices for motifs to feature.

Vallemar School Graduation Sweatshirt, Pacifica
An 8th grade class voted on a theme for their graduation sweatshirt. The shool mascot is a stallion, and the theme was to have a “steampunk stallion” over the traditional rancher style previously used. Delightfully, after the first rendition was shared with the class, I was asked to insert more steam valves and pistons for dramatic effect!

Lala Shave Ice Logo, San Francisco
Logo commission for a chef who was developing natural fruit syrups to accompany a Hawaiian shave ice cart business. The chef wanted to incorporate both her nickname and an orchid. I showed the orchid extending beyond the circular container to reflect chef’s passion for strong flavor without resorting to artificial flavor.

Intertwine Cafe Logo, Pacifica
This coffee shop was intimately connected to a neighboring yarn store, sharing a backyard and fostering a sense of community. They requested artwork that could be affordably rubber-stamped onto the sleeves. I incorporated the rope into the design to portray the interconnected experience of sipping coffee by the sea. I aimed to intertwine these elements in a way that is reflective of the cafe's unique character. Sadly, the business ended its lease shortly after the logo was submitted and became a bagel shop.

Beaver State Cider Co. Branding , Fictitious
For my Portfolio Class solo project, I integrated an illustrated logo into a brand. Drawing inspiration from the nostalgia I feel for the orchards I grew up among, I conducted research on the agri-tourism industry thriving in the Pacific Northwest. As a result, I launched a fictitious cider brand aimed at restoring heritage orchards in Oregon.
